Gunil Chung and J. Kelly Hoey

Authors and leading voices on human connection, trust, and the strategy behind building relationships that create lasting professional value in the age of AI.

Gunil Chung is the author of the book "Super Connector Manifesto: What the World Needs Now," in which he discusses the 11 archetypes of super connectors — people who bring other people and communities together for the greater good.  As a Super Connector, he most identifies with the community builder, seer, and catalyst archetypes.  At Box, he used his super connector skills to help the SaaS company grow from $100M in revenue to over $1B.  Throughout his career, he has built and run various communities of purpose.  His stated mission in life is to help leave a world that is more inclusive, habitable, and loving for his daughters, and by extension, all people.

J. Kelly Hoey is the author of The Social Billionaire: A Networking Roadmap for Women Seeking to Flourish and Achieve More and Build Your Dream Network (Penguin Random House). Her work lives at the intersection of research, strategy, and the messy, human reality of how careers actually move forward — through relationships.

Her book The Social Billionaire makes the case that for women, the right network is not a nice-to-have, it is what moves ambition forward. Drawing on evidence, case studies, four years of research, and two decades of working with high-achieving women, Kelly maps the specific social capital tools women need to reach the C-suite, the boardroom, and beyond.

Organizations that have brought Kelly in to speak include Google, Cisco, Pfizer, Prudential, Capital One, Westpac, the Tory Burch Foundation, J.P. Morgan Chase, and the PGA of America. She has addressed audiences including those at SXSW, the Grace Hopper Celebration, the European Commission, and the Conferences for Women across California, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Massachusetts. She co-created and moderated Apple’s Meet the Innovators speaker series and has appeared on CNBC.

Her insights have run in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fast Company, Inc., Vogue.com, and Good Morning America, among others.

Before all of this, Kelly was a corporate attorney — first in Toronto, then in New York City. In 2009, a single network changed her career trajectory: she was asked to become the first president of 85 Broads, a global business network for women. From there, she co-founded one of the first startup accelerators focused on female-founded ventures and became a limited partner in two venture capital funds — before turning her full attention to writing and speaking.
