Kevin Werbach is a professor at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and chair of the Department of Legal Studies and Business Ethics. A leading expert in technology policy, internet governance, and blockchain, Werbach previously served as Counsel for New Technology Policy at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), where he helped shape early internet and broadband policies. He is the author of several books, including The Blockchain and the New Architecture of Trust, which examines the regulatory challenges and potential of distributed ledger technologies. Werbach advises global organizations on digital strategy and policy, including the World Bank, the European Commission, and Fortune 500 companies. He has developed some of Wharton’s most popular online courses, reaching hundreds of thousands of learners worldwide. His current research explores the intersection of law, ethics, and emerging technologies, particularly in decentralized finance (DeFi) and AI governance.
