Stanley McChrystal is a retired four-star U.S. Army General who commanded Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) and led U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan. Renowned for transforming special operations into a highly networked and adaptive force, he oversaw missions against high-value terrorist targets, including the capture of Saddam Hussein. McChrystal pioneered the “team of teams” leadership model, emphasizing decentralized decision-making and rapid information sharing. After retiring, he founded the McChrystal Group, a consulting firm advising corporations and government agencies on leadership and organizational transformation. He has authored influential books, including Team of Teams and Leaders: Myth and Reality, and teaches leadership at Yale University. McChrystal is also a frequent speaker on crisis management, resilience, and adaptive strategy.
